This is my wife who makes me happy! She is a UGA graduate and has earned an M. A. degree in English Literature from Boston College. She is a writer who has published many short stories and has had a radio play produced by NPR. She is a Healing Writing Facilitator and offers writing classes to cancer patients and their families at the The Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support. She has completed a novel which her agent is currently seeking to publish. She writes a regular editorial column in the Athens Banner Herald. She is an avid gardner, enjoys swimming, and is a student of ballet. More about her and her activities may be seen at her web site.

Her father, Bill Thompson, was a professor in the Art Department and well known sculptor. His last work before his death was the "Spirit of Athens" which can be seen on the grounds of City Hall downtown.
